Junior Nature Explorer

It’s amazing how much can happen in a year! Visit HCP three times throughout the school year for this hands-on tree study. Students will learn to identify several important trees within the park and choose trees to observe and track changes throughout the seasons in their personal “Leaves of Change” journal. Each visit is one hour and includes a guided walk in different areas of the park, as well as a tree-based craft project (bark rubbings, leaf crafts, etc) to be included in their journal

Three occasions in October, January, and May

3 hours total / $9 per child ($3 per visit)

T is For Trees!

*Science*

This program includes a 30 minute guided walk on Hudson Crossing Park’s trails to visit three of our most beautiful and interesting resident trees! Your HCP Park Educator will teach children about why trees are an important part of the environment, and show them what makes each tree so special by studying the shapes of the leaves and characteristics of the bark. Children will then return to the HCP Pavilion to complete leaf rubbings that they’ll take home, visit our Explore Stations, and enjoy free play in our natural play garden.

Fall & Spring
