Cultivating Creatively – Event Details

Attendees will meet at the Hudson Crossing Park pavilion (across from the parking lot)

Calling in Summer- June 19th,
10am-12pm
This seasonal celebration will invite participants to create nature crowns and wind wands before joining a guided procession through the pollinator gardens and the Allee of Oaks to “Awaken the Gardens.” The garden keepers will be your guides, and all materials will be provided.
All ages are welcome
Group size is limited to 10. Children must be accompanied by an adult (not included in the group size)

Insects and the Autumn Garden
September 21, 10am-12pm
Participants will create a painting of a favorite insect on a piece of slate to add to their home garden. We will talk about the critical needs of insects in the fall as they prepare for the long winter hibernation. Materials and instruction provided.

Pollinator Plant Sale
July 20th, 9am-12pm
Hudson Crossing Park will be offering native plants for sale grown in and for our eco-region. At 10am, join us for a walking tour of the gardens and the Allee of Oaks with out garden keepers.

Fantastic Fairy Houses
August 24th, 10am-12pm
Participants will create their own fairy houses from materials they forage on the island (no live plants) and from supplies the Park provides. As we all know, fairies are masters of disguise. Can we build fairy houses that blend into Mother Nature as well as they do? Bring your imagination and we will see.

Seed Collection from the Pollinator Gardens
October 19, 10am-12pm
Join the garden keepers on a seed collection expedition in the park. Learn how to collect, store, stratify, scarify and winter sow seeds for growing your own native plants.
