NYS Museum Songbird Migration Walk

NYS Museum Goes to the Park: Songbird Migration Walk

Saturday, May 15, 2021

8am (Rain date: Sunday, May 16)

Spring migration of songbirds can be awesome along the Hudson River, as thrushes, vireos, warblers, tanagers, and other birds return from the tropics to breeding sites in New York and Canada. Curator of Ornithology Dr. Jeremy Kirchman will lead the group on a guided walk along existing trails in Hudson Crossing Park and will set up mist-nets in the hope of catching and banding some migrants and to view some of these beautiful songsters up close.

Adults and children 10 years old and up are welcome. Space is limited. Pre-registration is required at https://nyslibrary.libcal.com/event/7594475(link is external). Bring binoculars and a water bottle. Face masks and good walking shoes required.
